The Gift of Hope

Dec 7, 2025    Kody Alvarez

I don’t know what you came to church looking for this morning, but I am going to spend our next few moments together begging you to put your faith in Jesus because we know that all who put their hope in Jesus will be saved from their sin, and we know that everyone who doesn’t will die in their sins and go to hell.

Please open to Romans 5:1.

Christmas is about hope. We were hopelessly lost in our sins, and on a cold night in Bethlehem, the God of eternity stepped out of glory and gave up all the comforts of heaven, seated on the throne, to be born in a feed trough. When you look at all of the beautiful manger scenes during Christmas, don’t forget that the baby in the manger is God in the flesh, the hope for humanity. Jesus is God’s gift of hope.

God’s gift of hope is that He will forgive our sins and remember them no more.

Hope because Jesus Gives Peace: Romans 5:1-2

5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
