Easter: God is the Gospel
This sermon centers on the truth that the resurrection of Jesus validates the entire Gospel and reveals that “God is the Gospel.” Because Jesus truly lived, died, and rose again, His claims to be God are confirmed, and the good news is anchored in both historical reality and divine truth . The message explains that the Gospel is ultimately about God—His holiness, justice, and love—and is summarized in three key truths from Romans 5: we are saved by God, from God, and for God. God demonstrates His love not by waiting for us to respond, but by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners, offering clear evidence of His love through the cross.
The sermon also emphasizes that salvation addresses both God’s justice and our broken relationship with Him. We are saved from God’s righteous wrath against sin because Jesus paid the penalty we deserved, satisfying God’s justice and allowing us to be justified. But salvation doesn’t stop there—we are saved for a restored relationship with God. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are reconciled from being enemies to becoming His people, able to walk with Him now and forever. The ultimate joy of the Gospel is not just escaping judgment, but being brought into a living, eternal relationship with God, which has been His desire from the beginning.
