Esther: Such A Time As This
The story of Esther reminds us that God is sovereignly at work even when we cannot see everything He is doing. Esther found herself in a position of influence at a critical moment in the history of her people, and Mordecai challenged her to recognize that her position was not accidental. Though stepping forward meant risking her comfort, security, and even her life, Esther chose faithfulness. Her story demonstrates that God accomplishes His purposes and places His people where they are so they can participate in His Kingdom work.
In the same way, God has called each of us into His Kingdom “for such a time as this.” The opportunities, relationships, resources, and influence He has entrusted to us are not simply for our own benefit, but for His purposes. God’s mission will ultimately be accomplished, but we must decide whether we will faithfully join Him in what He is doing or allow fear, comfort, and complacency to keep us on the sidelines. The challenge is to recognize the significance of the moment God has given us and respond with courage, obedience, and a willingness to be used for the advancement of His Kingdom.
