Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21

How much land are we buying?

We voted to purchase up to 30 acres of land at a price of $7,500 per acre. The total collected in kickstart contributions will determine the final acreage. We currently need $20,000 to purchase all 30 acres and have 6 months of payments in the bank.

What is the term of the loan?

The loan term is 15 years with no penalties or fines for paying off the note early.

Will the church have a lien on it's building or property?

No. We will put 15% of the total cost of the land as a down payment and the bank will not place a lien on our property.

What if the church falls on hard times?

We have agreed to put aside 6 months of payments just in case we ever need it.

How will the land be used?

That is a question that we don't have a full answer for just yet. We intend to have the church body help us make some of those decisions as we move forward. We plan to clear some of the land for ball fields and invite the community to use them and hopefully we can start Upward Baseball and Upward Soccer ministries in the future.

Where is the land located?

The land is located at the corner of Oak Grove Loop and Wortham Bend. There is considerable road frontage on Wortham Bend and will wrap around 10 acres of land that was purchased previously on Oak Grove Loop. (see picture below)

Why do we need this much land?

We believe that we serve a Big God who has big plans for Oak Grove. In a community that is growing and will continue to grow well into the future, the land will position Oak Grove for whatever may come.

When are pledge cards due?

Pledge cards are due on October 21, 2018. The kickstart contributions collected will be applied to the 15% down payment.

Who sees the money that is contributed?

Kelly is the only person who has access to the names on the checks. Pastor Dennis and the Stewardship Committee have access to total giving, average gift amount, and other anonymized giving metrics which are unassociated with individual members.
