After two years of holding two weekly services at Oak Grove, our staff and Deacons agree that it is the right time to go back to one service. This was not an easy decision to make but it is the right decision for our church and members at this time. I want you to understand that we don’t see going back to one service as a step backward. It is a step forward to build up the community and fellowship that have marked Oak Grove through the years.
Two factors that contributed to starting a second service were overcrowding and providing room for guests who come to the church. We are blessed to have 2-3 families visit with us each month. These challenges will continue for us going forward but, I believe that together we can find alternate solutions that keep our fellowship together and prepared to receive visitors each week. If you have ideas, we want to hear them.
We will return to one service beginning October 18th. This date will give us an opportunity to publicize the change through our website, social media, email, text message, and phone calls to every family. The service will begin promptly at 10:30 am. The start time will allow for a one hour and 15 minute (if necessary) worship service and still be done before noon. Grow Groups (Bible Study) will begin at 9:00 am with a coffee/fellowship time for everyone. You can grab a cup of coffee in the foyer and visit with others before going to your class. Your teacher will begin the class at 9:15.
